Imperial Ware - Trouble Shooting Information
Problems that may occur with sanitary items for various reasons:
PROBLEM OR ISSUE

HOW TO RESOLVE

1. Dirt in the water line or water valve causing blockage
or the water inlet valve not to fill.
1. Water inlet valve to be cleaned or replaced by the installer or builder unless outside the warranty period.
2. Water running into the toilet- either overflowing the overflow tube inside the cistern or running under the washer of the cistern outlet valve not allowing the toilet to shut off. 2. The outlet valve may be dislodged from the base causing water to leak under the washer or the water inlet valve may be overflowing the valve overflow tube due to dirt in the valve not allowing the item to shut off properly.
3. Sewer smell coming from the toilet area or the installation which may be a floor waste gully or a ventilation problem. 3. The toilet pan may have a crack in it or the fixture may not have been installed into the sewer waste point correctly. This also may be poor ventilation of the sewer drain. The installer must inspect for these possibilities.
4. An imperfection or Glazing issue that is evident with the product that has not been damaged and installed. Must be identified prior to installing otherwise the installer will be held accountable. 4. An imperfection or breakage of the item must be reported as soon as possible when first noticed. This product must not be installed or the manufacturer will void all warranties and conditions. Do not install defective items.
5. Outlet valves not working properly after being installed and working for a period of time or from installation. 5. Any inlet or outlet component that has dislodged or that have parts that are non operational after a period of time after the installation will be deemed as tampered with or altered, unless proven by a service repairer. Charges will apply if found to be a non warranty issue or concern.
6. Wobbly toilet pans or cisterns that have not been fixed to the floor or the wall correctly as per the manufacturers installation instructions which state that a mortar bed, silicone sealant and or fixing devices must be used where fixing holes are provided. 6. Where these conditions have not been adhered to the installer must return and repair or rectify the installation to comply with the AS3500 plumbing standards and the manufacturers installation instructions.
7. The cistern sitting off the rear wall. 7. This must be an incorrect set out of the waste in the floor or the variable extender that is provided must not be inserted correctly into the sewer waste point.
8. Water coming from under the toilet pan from the front sides or rear of the toilet. 8. This may happen only when flushed or all of the time which can be identified by inspection and flushing of the toilet. If continual leaking occurs it may be the cistern fixing bolts or the cistern may have a hairline crack in the vitreous china. It also may be the pan leaking due to a bad connection to the sewer drain or other circumstances such as leaking water pipes in the wall.
9. Leaking between the cistern & the toilet pan when flushed. 9. This will be the location of the black rubber donut seal being incorrectly placed between the cistern and the pan.
10. Toilet seat fittings breaking that hold the toilet seat to the pan. 10. This happens when the seat becomes loose and the seat starts to move side ways putting pressure on the end of the hinge pins that insert into the toilet seat. This can be solved by regular tightening by pushing the hinges into the seat and tightening them correctly to stop movement.
11. Leaking basins or wastes on basins. 11. A basin will only leak if a hairline crack is present or the waste is not tightened properly underneath the basin or if tap ware has not been installed correctly. Please check that all fittings are water tight before calling.
